Happy Valentine’s Day! But why can’t we just celebrate love every day instead of in a 24 hour period of blind consumerism? Why can’t we appreciate its form without attaching layers of pomp, of opulence and expectation?
Here is a playlist of simple love songs, empty of frills and dramatizations.
Here are words and tunes of bare emotion, because love is not the result of social constructs or inflated praise with which it is surrounded, but the silent current beneath it all.
These aren’t songs that build love’s concept as overwhelming and palatial in structure. They are songs that expose its foundation in the most basic of human tendencies. These aren’t songs that make me think of love – they’re songs that make me feel it.
